Hello :)
Would someone recommend me some historical romances that feature a debutante as the heroine? However, I want her to be smart and witty, not a wallflower, and have the hero not only approach her because of sexual attractions.

Lisa Kleypas, Johanna Lindsey, Ann Herries, Catherine Coulter, Christina Dodd are a good place to start.

I would recommend Jalia Quinn's Bevelstoke's trilogy:

1. The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever (2007)
2. What Happens in London (2009)
3. Ten Things I Love About You (2010)

Regency romance with big dose of laugh mixed in. Still remember them fondly :D

Oh and ''Minx'' from same author, she was definitely spunky ;)

Oh sorry I thought you meant just Historical romance...Jude Deveraux writes American historical romance! Judith McNaught however writes pure regency romance, also Jihanna Lindsey's Mallory series is a good regency romance series, same goes for Christina Dodd, Lisa Kleypas and Julia Quinn :D

Yup, she wrote historicals, way back in the day. Medievals, surprisingly enough. I think the first books I read of hers were the Velvet series, which was the familial start of the Montegomery in the Americas. She didn't do too many Regency historicals, maybe one, The Duchess..?

To add to the excellent suggestions in the prior posts:
    Sara MacLean
    Anne Gracie
    Amanda Quick
    Gaelen Foley
    Eloisa James

Thanks for all the recommendations :)

I'll just use this existing thread to ask for some more recs:
1. historical romance (regency preferable) with virgin widow
2. heroine is the sister of hero's best friend or something like that

Sarah Maclean's writing reminds me of Lisa Kleypas's style when she first started writing historicals. Try her Love by Numbers and Rules of Scoundrels series. I also enjoy Julianne Maclean's books as well. I don't think the authors are related, just happened to have the same last name. Stephanie Lauren is one of my go to authors for intelligent H/H and if you like Scotland/Highland books NOT ALLOWED has recently written some very good ones.
