I just finished Sylvia Day's two books. I enjoyed them both. (I read the EL James books and I enjoyed them too.)
I did feel as though I was rereading Fifty Shades again. There were many similarities. Sylvia Day's books did not have the BDSM scenes. I look forward to the 3rd book in the Crossfire series coming out in May.

I am a HUGE romantic novel fan. and i read like a maniac. I am more of a Lora Leigh fan so I was really disappointed when reading 50 shades. I think it was because of the lack of character development. it felt like I was reading one of those short novellas that they added an abundance of sex scenes to it in order to stretch it out to multiple novels.
And I was almost expecting the same thing from Day. So I read the other novels by her first. And i fell in love. so I started Crossfire. and I am in LOVE. this is the character development and believability was craving in 50 Shades. The darker elements are there, but not in such an unbelievable way that stops you from getting into the story. Gideon is a character you can love, hate and root for. And Eva is a woman who falls in love, but in the sense that she is willing to lose herself. The time frame seems to make more sense in Crossfire versus 50 shades as well (although the level commitment to time ratio probably seems weird to some).
I am only upset that Crossfire is not all out at the same time like 50 shades because i am impatient. :)

After reading the forum & the books.. I'm honestly leaning towards Day's books (cant wait for the new one to be out) but I do agree that each page of Day's books; I'll compare to 50 Shades.

Hi guys,

I've just finishe R.K Lilley's books. More or less the same as Day's & Gray's books. Any comment on it? Interested to know if there is other books similar to this worth reading.

The Blackstone Affair series by Raine Miller is similar. The first two books (Naked, All In) are out, She has since signed on with a major publisher and the last I've heard is the third is due out in Spring 2013.

i agree. Sylvia Day has a better storyline and plot than EL James. The only reason why people clamored for it is because of the bold way she emphasized sex, atleast Sylvia's Crossfire novel was tastefully done.

I liked 50 shades better, even if I think (like someone said above) that "little knowlage is a dangerous thing". There is nothing bad about BDSM if both parts want to. But James want´s to portrait that Christian needs to be saved. Yes, he needs saving, but not because of his sexual preferensis.

I´ve read the to first parts of crossfire, and I didn´t like the first part that mush. Only read the second one because I found free online. But actually, I really liked crossfire-2. I can´t wait until the third part is out. My issues with the first part, is that it´s so focused on sex that she looses the story line. Every issue is solved by sex. I don´t mind alot of sex, but make the scenes count.

On that part I think Day made a mush better job in part two.

I don't hate any of the series but if it comes to writing then I go for Sylvia Day but if it comes to hotness of character? I'm Christian Grey all the way baby :)
