Its a mix. Its a continuation of a plot consisting of different antagonists and protagonists points of view and unravelling pf one big plot

each book can be a stand alone book ... but sometimes a couple from a different book will make an cameo appearance so I would say it would be more fun to read them in order but you don't have to do that ... dark fire is the best book in the series ... I loved Tempest / Rusty ... it is a really good book series ... I hope you enjoy it as much as I did

It's a series about a people (the Carpathians). Each book is about a particular person of this endangered and unique people finding his or her mate (whether the female likes the idea or not). I found book 2 in the series and got so hooked. The guys - sigh!!

I would say read the first 5 in order, and then after that you can jump around. Some characters overlap into other books but it's not a requirement to read the series. She was getting very cookie cutter with the plots for a bit, but the past few books have broken out of that cycle.

Have not read any of her books after Dark Celebration. Just got too much of the same in each book where it was hard to tell them apart as they all sounded the same. The sex scenes tend to take over. Tried the Leopard Series and couldn't get into the violence of how the men treated the females.Tried the Ghostwalkers and they aren't too bad. She just started a new one the Shadow Riders.
