Erotica is an over arching term and it covers all sorts. If you can think it up you can probably buy a book about it.

Absolutely. I agree with one of the first posters, it's wonderful escapist stress relief.
I enjoy the weirder ones, where there are disabled, supernatural, traumatized, polyamorous or otherwise unique characters. I love when they actually get away from the standard "we two had sex, therefore we must LOVE each other" plot-line. It's refreshing to know that someone, somewhere is doing something different.
Unfortunately, I have an inner editor, who is often appalled by some of the spelling errors (often unintentionally hilarious). Also, sometimes they get carried away with physical capabilities. Like a 6'4" musclebound man is likely to be able to bend over and lick the knees of a 5'2" partner standing face-to-face.

lilitangel - There is plenty of non-BDSM stuff out there, just make sure to read the description carefully, and learn the general rules for BDSM covers.

Yes I do. But most of the time I do when I want to ease my mind. I can't recover in another way after a complicated book. More Erotica books are easy to read and I finish them pretty quickly.

And so it goes...

Have you tried Joey W. Hill's books? I keep going back to her Vampire Queen series (Gideon, you rock!) and her Witches books.
