I think it's got something to do with the escapism of romance - most women would castrate all these bad-boys and alpha men if they met them in real life, but in fiction it can be hot and interesting. I mean, not all women who read BDSM are submissives.

It's all part of the fantasy that a bad boy falls for the good girl. It's exciting. What would be the fun in reading about a good girl going on a date with a good boy?

I think the bad guys really interesting when you put them into some kind like romance-erotic plot novel, but I, in the other hand, live near the real life bad guy, and that wasn't interesting a bit! Really, Bad guy, they only interesting and sexy as hell in novels, in reality? Not at all. Nope. Just NO. They are dangerous, stupid, selfish as hell bastard, and many times, they are only trouble. The REAL trouble that always make your heart hurt so much!

Enjoying what's bad for you in a fictional environment is much safer than acting on poor impulses or choices in R/L I suppose?

I read stories from wattpad, so teens are obsess with bad boys especially for ya and teen novels. Wicked and naughty. For adult romance, irl maybe readers want something spicy LOL..
