My favorite MM author was Ardveche who posted a handful of novels and short stories at Nifty. His work mostly centered around new relationships and had you anticipating new chapters. He had his own site too and was very friendly to those who emailed him. He disappeared from the net for unknown reasons about a decade ago. Does anyone know what became of him or if he still writes under a different name?

Who are your favorite MM or FF authors? Tell us about them and why their work is so memorable! Recommend your most cherished books and series!

Well. I used to read original MM fiction on fictionpress and there are two authors whose works I have read over and over but these works are also unfinished and the authors have been dissappeared since years ago.
They are: Comodin with "Dial Tone" & the milk bottle with "Quinntessential". They both didn't finished these works before both MC really got together with their own suppossed Love Interest! :-[
But I still love how they wrote their fiction so I just hope one day, whenever that time would be, they could come back and try to give their MCs a well deserved HEA/HFN with the Love Interests.
Okay, but if we talk about my most favorite MM/FF authors from top lists: Tal Bauer, T.J. Klune, Anyta Sunday, K.A. Merikan, and J.L. Merrow.

Since I love reading almost all their works, I would recommend to read every books they have published, hugmebear! :)
But if you insist "only one" for each author . . . well, here they are:
5. "Muscling Through " by J.L. Merrow. I remember how wide I smiled reading the MC's 1st pov. I think it's funny and sweet and honest. I love it.
4. "Guns 'N Boys" series by K.A. Merikan. It should've read in order and I can't seem to pick one because all books in this series are awesome, enganging and twisted! Especially Dominico, one of the MCs! Okay, I admit, I love this series mostly because of Dom's character! But Dom's is this sexy, arrogant anti-hero with possessive streak and I love him. (Aaaand the other character who also had similarity of his sexy, arrogant side is Patrick of "Wake Up Married" mini-series by Leta Blake and Alice Griffith and I also recommend you to read if you havent read it because I swear Dom and Patrick must be like cousins in Black Family of "Harry Potter" series!!)
3. "Leo Loves Aries" by Anyta Sunday. I've recently read this and I couldn't seem to put it down so I had to finish it through midnight. Just. Read. This, hugmebear!
2. "Wolfsong" AND "How to Be a Normal Person" by T.J. Klune. The former is just so 'candy canes and pine cones and epic and awesome'. The other is because of 'share bears' and asexual characters. I love both so much and equally!
1. "The Executive Office" series by Tal Bauer. You must have read this series. Or if not yet, just go and read immediately. Please, hugmebear, this series is so so so brilliant and intriguing and romantic and awesome and will blow your mind! Ethan & Jack, my No. 1 of my favorite couples and you should fall in love with their romance, too! Oh, and it still has only two books so prepare for cliffhanger! They said Book 3 will be on March but I'm not sure, but still this is an action-packed romance series with some scenes will make you 'holy sh--!' and cry. Just. Read. It, hugmebear. It's also best recommended by some reviewers on its goodreads page.

Wow bondingboys, you make those all sound so "must read!" Call me a hopeless romantic but I love stories of romance and lasting relationships. Even if the red hot passion has become a lukewarm familiarity. I also like sexual exploration and pursuit of love.

Right now I'm reading another series by my formerly favorite author. Like the first series, it's pure adventure but it puts me to sleep every time I pick it up. How can some of his work be so captivating while others so dreadful?

What do you all look for when you read? Sex scenes? Romance? Erotic adventures you dare not seek in real life? Fetishes?

Romance! Romance! Sweet, pure, unconditional romance! The feeling the MCs have for each other, the way they finally convey their feeling, and their HEA/HFN!
But I don't really like InstaLove/InstaLust plot, I prefer "pining" and just "UST". The MCs have to be finally together around 50-70% of the story. (Well, K.A. Merikan's "Guns 'n Boys" and Leta Blake's "Wake Up Married" mini series are in InstaLust Category, but Dom & Seth and Will & Patrick had to face maaany conflicts before they really, really said "I love you" and meant it and I just "damn what a ride".)
Some scenes with kissing or cuddling or just holding hands are my top gestures of affection, so I don't really care with sex scenes . . .
But, well, those previous books I recommended sure have sex scenes, but they balance it with the main plot story, so I enjoy reading them, too.
And regarding books that will unexpectedly put you to sleep while reading, I have some experience, too. Like some of J.L. Merrow books I DNF'ed because they turned out boring after 40% read . . . :(
And about hugmebear being a hopeless romantic -- friend, I am, too. :)
