The closest I remember, from traditionally published books, was Gossamer Axe by Gael Baudino. She wrote a follow up or two.
Though once I found that, Amazon suggested another one, I have actually read called Black Blade Blues by J. A. Pitts. Apparently I missed a follow up book or two there, also.
I'm really glad you asked this question. It's incredibly difficult to find well written books with lesbian characters.

I'd suggest Underdogs by Geonn Cannon, or just about anything else by this author
