From Goodreads:
In the 'Gay for You' (GFY) genre, a character who was not previously gay, or at least didn't know they were, meets 'the one' and embarks on a gay relationship with him/her. The implication is usually that one or both protagonists wouldn't be in a same-sex relationship except with this one special person.

I've been into reading GFY fiction recently, and some of my favorites were:
More Than Make-Believe by Tymber Dalton
Plan B by SJD Peterson
Str8te Boys by Evangeline Anderson

SOOO true! Hot Head was was a fun one with firemen!

I also really enjoyed the Mater of Time series...up to book 5 and it has not disappointed!

Just finished My Cowboy Heart which is basically a cowboy GFY and it was good! The sequel is portrayed as GFY but also has menage which I don't enjoy.

Not sure that I totally agree that this fits the "GFY" category but I I could NOT put this one down!

TOTALLY recommend Criminal Pleasures by Darien Cox.

Why?
*Filled to the brim with sizzling sexual tension
*Some absolutely awesome love scenes
*Good plot full of twists and turns...the sort that I must admit took me by surprise and just enhanced the reading pleasure another notch.
*The chemistry between the main characters is palpable and they are nothing short of hot, hot, hot together.

The storyline may be considered by some a bit far fetched but personally, I found myself just accepting the ups and downs, ins and outs and twists and turns, because I was so engrossed in the story. It's kind of like what you take for granted when you're watching a movie, you know it probably never really happens like that in real life... but who cares because its just so interesting, and we all want a rest from real life anyway or why do we read fiction?

Heated, Sexy and sensual to the point of "whoa, pass me the fan," exciting, surprising, gripping, angsty but not overly dramatic, never boring, I was hooked from the beginning to its phew! that was a roller coaster ride HEA. I wouldn't call this GFY really because the "straight" main character has had minor experiences with guys in his past and does wonder if he's Bi but he fights it and for years has lived the straight life so his reaction to a man blows him away and leads him to his first "real" experience with a man.

The blurb gives you the bare bones of whats to come but it doesn't tell you what surprises are in store and neither will I Loved it! And highly recommend it!

GFY hasn't been one of my favorite genres, per se (other than Mary Calmes, love all of her books).
But i'm reading, "The Girl for Me" by Failte, and it's one of the sweetest, most original stories that I've read recently.

Plot:
"Straight jockboy Kevin thinks he has gay, cross-dressing Danny under his thumb.
Kevin only likes girls.
So... why does he keep thinking about her?
Or him.
Whatever."

So now I have to look up some of these other recs. ;)

Touch me gently by J.R Loveless

Scarred for life Kaden meets (straight) cowboy Logan. Some of the rewiews I've seen on goodreads I think is a bit to harsh. I know a person who had PTSD. I've heard what he have told me about how he functioned and how friends to him functioned (all ex. military). I think Kaden's reactions are belivable.
