Ok I have just finished reading The Hunger Games Trilogy and I really enjoyed the way the author made you feel for the characters. (can't wait to watch the movie now).

What I was wondering is can anyone suggest any other fictional books that are fairly easy to get into and have characters or a story that really makes you feel you are in that world.

Thanks in advance :)

I suggest Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. It's a science-fiction book that sucks you in from start to finish.

A friend of mine and I were discussing how Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card had some similar feelings about it. Children having power while being manipulated. One child having everything placed on his head in hopes of success. Also kid on kid violence, but it's more in the form of intense bullying at times. The world isn't at all the same though, sorry, just some themes. I'll warn you though, most people either love it or hate it. No one actually loves the author as a person anymore though. The book itself is easy to get into I feel, but the later books are lesser so in my opinion.

So, I'll be the person who says it, how about Battle Royale by Koushun Takami? The translation can be halting at times, but it definitely has some strong ties to The Hunger Games. The ease of it though is debatable.

I felt the same way about the series, too. I didn't want to go to another series that didn't give me the same level of emotion and attachment, you know? So a friend of mine suggested the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs.

OMG!

At one point, I was in TEARS for Mercy!! Book 3... Awesome series! I'm not a big werewolf reader, but her writing is amazing and her grasp of character development, details and reaching a reader is beyond 'writing' and more of a work of 'art'!

I really liked reading The Hunger Games as well.
It was like I was on TGH-crack while reading it :P

A similar book series I liked reading was The Maze Runner.
It's about a boy named Thomas who wakes up without his memory in an elevator and when the door opens he's being greeted by a bunch of other boys which live in this maze. Every night the doors to the maze close and if you're trapped outside of the maze you'll get killed by some kind of monsters which are named Grievers.
The first book is about the maze and the boys trying to find their way out.

I'm going to take a look the other recommendations, thnx guys!
