The Abstract by Laura McKinney

Ivy Samuels better forget everything she thought was true about her world.
She has high hopes for her first semester of college and refuses to be derailed, even when her sister backs out of rooming with her and Ivy gets stuck with a drug addict for a roommate.
Then one day in the pouring rain, Link materializes before her eyes, claiming to be Ivy's dark side in human form. Despite his striking beauty, Link comes from an evil dimension where abstract beings influence the desires of every human. But they are never supposed to become human themselves. Link doesn't know how, but he is now as real and tangible as Ivy, the girl he was assigned to control.
Though she knows Link is evil, something connects them that Ivy cannot explain... and cannot resist. And now Link has more power over Ivy than he ever had before...

I never thought I would find a book where I would love the characters as much as I did Edward and Bella, but Link and Ivy have done it. Laura has wrote an awesome story in such a way you feel the characters are real. You rejoice when they rejoice, and cry when they cry. Some scenes had my heart beating so fast and hard I thought I wouldn't survive. I couldn't believe it was her first novel. I can't wait to see what this author has in store for us in the future. I was very happy to see that she is already working on the sequel. I hope everyone gives this book a chance and meets Link and Ivy for themselves. You won't be disappointed.
