There used to be a whole bunch of snapchat save stuff on playstore, things that would save the video and picture without notifying. None of them there any more as far as I can see.

Nope. They wouldn't work anyway since Snapchat has been updated to block apps like that. But you can root, install Xposed, and add modules that will save them. Just be sure to have Snapchat installed and LOGGED IN before enabling Xposed, or it will just error out when you try to log in.
