In the past I set up my Android phone running version 6.0.1 ( marshmallow ) to use the home screen pattern security option ( where I connect a series of dots on the screen ) then once Ive connected the right pattern of dots my phone will open .

I now want to disable that pattern security option and just return to where I just pressed my phones power button on and the phone did not ask for any security options , it just went straight to on.

Ive tried many settings on my phone to do the above , but so far none of them worked .

Any one know how I can achieve the above ?

:) Hello!

Here are the steps (mind you that my phone is probably different than yours, but the steps should be similar):

Go to your phone's "Settings App" (usually in your launcher's app drawer).

Then go to "Security and Lockscreen."

Under "Device Security," tap on " Screen Lock."

Enter your password on the next screen.

Under ”Choose Screen Lock Method," tap "None."

Now there should be no screen lock for your phone and you will be able to touch the home button to get back into your phone without having to use the pattern or swipe method of unlocking the phone.

Again, your phone may be different than mine, but the steps should be similar enough to work on your phone. :D
