My phone has become super slow over the past year, and I would like to do a factory reset and start again. Perhaps even install something like Lineage OS.

What's the best local (non-cloud) backup software please? I would like to have all the same apps, data, permissions etc. when I import the backup. I have about 100 apps so I'm a bit concerned about messing this up.

Sorry if this has been asked before.

If you have root I suggest Migrate.

I don't have root but many thanks for the suggestion Zorom. I have also been recommended Titanium Backup.

Without root, forget Titanium backup. It would have been the best option here. Without root, manually backup all your apps settings via apps menu. Most of the apps nowadays offer a backup option in their settings. It can be tedious, but that is what I do. I then transfer them in my PC hard drive/external drive. Again, without root, the options are really limited and this is probably the most secure/reliable way to do it.

I'd go with OAndBackupX (opensourced) or Swift Backup (paid). Titanium Backup would be a no go for me.

The Op said his phone was not rooted. I am also curious to know why Titanium backup is a no go for you? That is the first time I see someone not recommending Titanium backup. Is it because it is not open source? That is an app I`ve seen talked about a few times on XDA forums.

Titanium backup cannot back up and restore Split APKs (eg. Gmail). Titanium backup will not fix the problem for a long time.

To KaaMoS-san,
Thank you for telling me a good app, OAndBackupX !
