I'm trying to find a way to record Whatsapp phone calls.
I've got TotalRecall for regular incoming or outgoing calls but it doesn't work on Whatsapp calls.

Any idea if something like this exists?

WhatsApp is only a real time messaging application. Are you sure you're not meaning something else?

I thought it allows free voice calls too...
If that's the case, how come there are calls from one person (who only uses whatsapp) that are never recorded?

To the best of my knowledge whatsapp is only a texting alternative, not a voip client. A beta could be happening without users being aware of yet, in which case, I'd stand corrected. When TextFree was introducing voip into their offerings only accounts they allowed into the voip beta (myself included) could see and use the service and nobody else was aware it was taking place. Whatsapp struck a few deals with some asian networks so it could be a likely scenario you and your friend are involved.

But back to recording, if you are answering the calls via your phone, I don't understand how it could not come to be recorded just as any other call. If it is really whatsapp you are using as a voip client at the moment, you might be waiting for a while for the service to open up publicly and developers to include it in call recorders.

I wouldn't mind seeing some pictures of the whatsapp phone if you have them

I've got an S2, not in any whatsapp beta or anything.

I assumed Whatsapp allowed VOIP, because the calls weren't recorded, I guess it just didn't record them for some other reason.

Whatsapp has video chat. It might not be phone but it does have audio.
