I don't own a cell phone, only have my Nexus 7 tablet. Looking for an app that will let me send/receive text messages. I've tried Textplus but wondering if there were any others out there? Tried the one listed in the Best of 2013 section but that one requires a cell number to register.

I second Google Voice if you're in the US.

I checked out Google voice but it's gotten really poor reviews. I'm trying out textfree, sent several texts to a friend and it seems decent. Guess I'll stick with that, just not a fan of its look/interface, it's white and bland...lol, with no themes or anything.
