An eBook written by 30 Greater Atlanta Christian students was launched on Wednesday as the young authors answered a question, “If I Were in Charge.”
Recommendations about how to approach issues and offer solutions covered such topics as autism, stereotypes, adoption, homelessness, children’s rights, health care, genetic research, student loans and energy.
“The student essays offer creative and practical solutions to the issues that are important to our future leaders,” GAC Senior High Student Dean Caleb Panter said in a press release. “It has been an empowering experience for them to envision strategies that will make our world a better place.”
The book will initially launch on Amazon.com as a Kindle eBook and then will be available as a paperback. The book costs 99 cents and proceeds will benefit Keep Georgia Safe, a nonprofit that supports safety education and crime prevention training.
Five of the 30 authors will receive $1,000 scholarships from lawyer Gary Martin Hays for their contributions or book illustrations.
A book reception and poster signing event is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Thursday in the GAC Student Family Center.
