Women have emerged triumphant in the beleaguered ebook market. As an industry
executive warned that ebooks were in a “fight for attention”, it was
revealed that the ten most-read authors in Britain on an ebook platform this
year were women.



Michael Tamblyn, from Kobo, the only major rival to Amazon’s Kindle, said it
was fascinating that female readers, authors and protagonists now dominated
the market. Last year the bestsellers’ list, which this year is led by E L
James and Paula Hawkins, had only four female authors in the top ten.
