An exciting series of fantasy tales perfect for young children is offering parents, aunties, uncles and grandparents across the country the perfect Christmas present for their much-loved little ones this week, with the release of the Tojo and Nelly’s Cat Tales (http://tojoandnellyscattales.com/about/). The series of seven books follows the tales of adorable cats Tojo and Nelly, chronicling their adventures and teaching children some important life lessons along the way.
All of the books come fully illustrated in eBook format, perfect for taking children through a feline adventure on a Kindle or other tablet reader before they go to bed or set off for school. The books are inspired by the cats of the series’ creator, giving them a truly lifelike feel and allowing children to fully enter the world of kitties Tojo and Nelly.
Maria Merrett, creator and publisher of the eight children’s books (http://tojoandnellyscattales.com/books/), says, “I am no stranger to children’s fantasy tales, having raised two children myself! I spent much of my adult life thinking up exciting stories for my children, and now my grandchild to enjoy. My own cats inspired this series of books, and the first series includes a number of exciting escapades. Written and illustrated beautifully by author and design duo Tamara Forge and Nanuli Burduli, Tojo and Nelly’s Cat Tales can captivate the imagination of young children, who love to hear about furry friends going on numerous adventures, helping out their canine companions and generally getting up to mischief.”
Creator Merrett joined forces for Forge and Burduli to bring her idea for the series to life earlier this year. Born in Georgia, Nanuli is an illustrator of dozens of books published in Georgia and in Poland, as well as in other countries. Author Forge is an experienced children’s author and worked closely with the series creator to transform the initial concept into a beguiling compendium of stories.
Highlights of the series are plentiful, with the first book describing Tojo’s first introduction to Nelly, the new cat. The story is charming and playful, but also helps small children to get a grasp of important issues like change, rivalry, and eventually enduring friendship. In the third book of the series, the two cats team up to help their pal, Wookie the dog, through an identity crisis, whilst the last book in the current series sees the feline duo help an elderly cat to have a day of wicked fun and frolics.
The book series is perfect for children of all ages; the illustrations help children who cannot yet read to understand the story, and the language is simple enough that readers starting out can improve their reading skills by tackling these books alone. The ideal Christmas gift for families with little ones, place Tojo and Nelly under your Christmas tree this year and enjoy a delightful series of tales to enthrall any cat lover.
