The latest series about an out-of-place teen heroine living in a dystopian future is continuing to pay off for HarperCollins.
Divergent by Veronica Roth is once again No. 1 on the Digital Book World Ebook Best-Seller list. That’s the sixth time out of all eight weeks in 2014 that Divergent has been No. 1. Helping the publisher’s cause are Insurgent and Allegiant, the other two books in the series, which have joined Divergent atop the list all year and are currently sitting in the Nos. 2 and 5 spots, respectively. The upcoming film adaptation of the first book is due out March 21, buoying sales.
A surprise in the No. 3 spot is Debbie Macomber’s 1986 best-seller, Friends–And Then Some, which is being sold by Penguin Random House for $0.99, a price which likely helped catapult it to the No. 2 spot.
Despite the high rank of such a low-priced title, the average price for a best-selling ebook increased slightly this week to $6.57, up from $6.48 last week.
