This model has a 6.8 inch display, making it slightly larger than the other eBook readers in this list. The Aura HD comes in black, white or brown and is slightly heavier than the Paperwhite and the Nook GlowLight.

The Kobo Aura HD is said to be the company's best eBook reader to date, and many are even calling it the 'Porsche of eReaders.' Amazon Kindle

The base version of the Amazon Kindle has gotten a facelift, making it a slightly improved version of its predecessor. This is the only eBok reader on the list that doesn't have a touch screen, but rather employs hardware page turn buttons instead. Measuring 6.5 by 4.5 by 0.34 inches (HWD) and weighs 197 grams, this one is a bit heavier than the others.

The Kindle comes in a standard grey color and a black as well. It is comfortable to hold for long periods of time. It has a 167ppi, the 6 inch, E Ink Pearl screen which is only a slight difference in contrast, as compared to the previous model. It also has 2GB of internal storage and supports Amazon's own Kindle format, plus PDF, TXT, HTML, MOBI, DOC, and DOCX files.

Kobo Aura

The Kobo Aura is the only E Ink-based eBook reader that has a completely flush, capacitive touch screen. It also has some of the best customization options and fonts in the list. The Aura brings some pretty impressive tech to the table, and if a firmware update is issued to improve accuracy and touch, this one could be a major contender. Measuring in at 5.9 by 4.5 by 0.31 inches and weighing 172 grams, the Koba Aura is pretty lightweight for an eBook reader.

The display delivers 212ppi and 16 levels of gray and features 1,014-by-758-pixel resolution. Its 1GHz Freescale processor makes the Aura pretty fast.

The Aura reads PDF, EPUB, RTF and MOBI, files, supports Adobe DRM, and works with the comic book formats CBR and CBZ. With its 4GB of onboard storage capacity and microSD card slot which supports 32GB cards, the Aura is a great option. According to Kobo, the Aura lasts for about two months on a full battery charge, with 30 minutes of reading per day. While there is no AC adapter included, charging means using the USB cable.
