OlivettiWe know there are journalists on every beat, in every corner of the globe, who cover money. And, there are some prestigious awards that reflect your work. But, stories about money don’t always get the recognition they deserve, perhaps because traditional awards competitions aren’t broad enough.

The Reynolds Center wants to change that, by featuring money journalism in our upcoming eBook.

Top Money Journalism 2014 will be a collection of notable journalism this past year that centered on money. We’re looking for your best story, broadcast report or photo published or aired in 2014 on a money topic.

We welcome submissions from traditional business journalists — those who sit in business sections or whose title is business reporter — and others across different subject areas.

We’ll select gold, silver and bronze winners for the overall contest, as well as winners in each of the categories we’ve listed below.

It’s completely free to enter. Here’s the one small catch: there’s no prize money.

Instead, the top three winners will be featured in stories on BusinessJournalism.org. All category winners will receive a Reynolds Center tote bag, a copy of the eBook and bragging rights on their resume.

These are the categories:

  • College Journalism (open to undergraduate and graduate level journalists)

  • Commentary

  • Education

  • Entertainment and Fashion

  • Food

  • Global (for journalists based outside the U.S.)

  • Politics

  • Sports

  • Traditional Business Journalism

  • Urban and Transportation

Print, online and broadcast journalists and photographers can enter in any category. Freelancers are welcome.

Entries are due no later than Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at midnight Mountain Time. Complete details are available on the entry form.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Email Reynolds Assistant Director Elizabeth Mays at [email protected].
