So far I haven't had any luck with Google. I'm not sure if this was just a short story or a book, it was a long time ago, I believe I read the story in the 1960's. There were people who gave off an aura that caused people to hate them, they were called "Stinkers". At some point these stinkers discovered that they had telekinetic abilities.
