Hi I'm hoping somebody can help me find a book I read and year or two ago. I can't remember the name or the author (obviously.) Only the rough outline of the story.
It start's off with the main character working as a door to door sales man trying to convince pub owners and customers to buy crummy over priced weapons from him. It's very clear from the beginning that he hates the job and his life in general. He even goes so far as to provoke the pub goers into literally chasing him out of the pub because it's better than just leaving having not sold anything.
The next few chapter are sense of him with friends at another bar getting wasted and complaining about there life. Eventually the main character get's this idea to try and solve a series of kidnapping in the area and claim the now very large reward then use that money to become adventurers. His friends naturally think he insane but be eventually comes up with a half decent plan and wins them over. That's when you learn he's actually a mage that was kicked out of school for fighting and can actually kick as when he needs to.
Hopefully somebody here can actually remember the name of the book and can help me find it again. Thank you for any help you can give.
Edit: I'm pretty sure the author also came out with a sequel recently. That's part of why I'm trying to find it again. Also I don't care if it's on mobilism or not an amazon link would be fine too.
