Hoping someone might be able to help me here. I'm pretty sure I originally read this on Bethany's Woodshed when I had a membership many years ago but because I now have no idea what it is called I'm not sure how to find it. A lot of the books featured on there do get published.
What I remember is an Alpha Male who had been subjected to some kind of experimentation when in Army or Special Forces. I think the lady might have been called Beth and that he had issues with his dead step-father and although he had been caught cheating on the mother, the mother had stayed with him. He has old army/ special forces coming to encourage them to join them as a private team. I believe the two main characters had know each other for a long time.
Any ideas or suggestions?
