Hello everyone, I wish there was someone who could help me find the title of the book -Historical Romance- I forgot.
Some parts of the story that I remember:
•A woman (with her male cousin) travels to a land -or castle?-which is given as an inheritance or a dowry for her
•Three landlords -or laird- wanted the woman's property (I think because their three lands were bordered by her property), so they intend to propose to the woman to get the property
•The woman refused to marry the three of them, so they intended to force the woman. But before that the three of them made a lottery for a turn, so each got one day to attack and win the woman before the other
•The woman has a strategy to defeat the three of them without having to fight
So in the first experiment the three lairds failed to attack. There are troops given the smell bombs, some are made unconscious and stripped of all the weapons and clothes (this scene is really funny!)
•But I think eventually she married laird who got the last draw. Then the laird married the woman directly because he took the priest with her, after which she went straight to the laird clan.
The woman's cousin went to inform her family about the news
I'm not sure but I think the laird's clan is poor?
and this book is part of series? not sure too
