I made a stupid mistake. I updated my e-book reader but didn't copy files to my HD. After the update books looked weird and jumbled and some files were gone so I had to delete all. I will replace them only I was in the middle of a book but don't remember its title/author. Extremely stupid, right?

Details I remember:
1. it was an older book, probably uploaded on mobilism 2-3 years ago and I wanted to read some older books this summer
2. probably chick-lit, contemporary
3. almost sure it's an English or American author
4. a housewife 40+ wins 15000000+ GBP and legal team explains it's her money, not her husband's, not her family's, not her kids'
then she hides it from her husband who doesn't treat her properly
5. the husband isn't abusive, just neglects her and spends more and more time working or drinking in pubs or with younger "ladies"
6. 2 kids in college or preparing for college and husband doesn't want to pay for college even when he can afford it forcing kids to work more than they can when they study at the same time
7. the lady buys a house in a village where she wanted to live with her friends and relatives but the husband hates it
8. turns out the husband hates the village as a small community where every person knows he had an affair with his wife's best friend
9. the husband becomes unstable and wants to buy the company from his boss only to destroy it and fire some co-workers who "slighted" him, that is he thinks they did it but they only stood up when he bullied them
10. the husband has a bad case of andropause and buys clothes, sport stuff and cars he doesn't use but needs them to prove himself he's still a young virile male but doesn't want to pay for her wife's necessary clothes 'cause "too expensive and she doesn't need a new coat" and so on
11. the husband doesn't want to pay for his mother-in-law treatment and a good nursing house, 'cause "costs waaay too much and besides who needs this old crow"

and that's it, I can't remember more details of the plot.
Any ideas?

My idea?

Run the bastard over with a double-decker bus.

As for the book: can you remember any of the characters' names? Where they lived? What era? If you got a look at the cover, what was on it?

Well, I DO want to know if they divorce or she runs her husband over.
No idea about the names but as I wrote what I remembered, it was an English village. GBP, right? And it was contemporary.

I don't think it's my missing book. From its description on amazon no kids and in my book it was a state lottery, in your book it's football betting pools. Sorry.

Did I Mention I Won the Lottery? by Julie Butterfield https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18374031-did-i-mention-i-won-the-lottery

It's bugging me because it sounds like I might like it - if the wife gets some revenge going.

Yes! This it my missing book!
Only now I must re-read it. I don't remember when I stopped reading and made a mess on my reader.
Thanks! I didn't remember this topic at all. You're a gem!
