My mom told me about a Pride&Prejudice variaton, unfortunalely I didn't listen to her description. I agreed with what she said and then asked a question regarding that variation. Now I don't know what happened in the book and so on. My mom doesn't want to tell me and wasn't happy when I didn't listen to a words she said.
Maybe Users here recognize my missing book and can tell me the title and author.

What I remember:
Mr. Darcy asks for Lizzie's hand and she doesn't know why, then her father explains Mr. Darcy is one of discreet males who prefer other males but need heirs or don't want gossip condemning them and so on. There are some complications and even Mrs. Bennet dies but at last Mr. Bennet finds his place in Oxford among scholars and then his daughters see a man who is probably his partner and they hold hands.

Oh, I don't remember what my mom told me but maybe he was in fact straight and it was just a misunderstanding. Worse, she says she doesn't remember that book! So I can't aks her for more details. I checked books in the thread but nothing looks like my missing book.
My fault, one should ALWAYS listen to their moms!
Thank you for your help.

I think it's Times Up Mr Darcy by Frederica Edwards, just finished reading it and thought of this post.

Good book!
