Hi Folks.

I read a book a while back. But I can't remember the title. I need your help.

It's about 2 ladies who get into conversation via either a dating app or social media or something similar.

They become friends. But one is straight and she thinks that the other is male.

The gay lady travels to meet up with the other one... and they discover the mis-assumptions.

It's not "telling lies online", nor "wrong number, right woman".

Thanks in advance. :)

Thanks for answering. It's not that one, but I'm going to read it anyway since it looks good :)

Still searching... :)

Can you remember anything else about it? What did the main characters work as and how old were they? Animals, children?

I believe that they were in the US and were on opposite coasts. The gay lady had a gender neutral name, hence the confusion. They were probably in their 30s. I don't believe either were trying to fool the other.

I remember that the profile for the gay lady also had a man in the picture.... and so the straight lady assumed that she was in a long-distance relationship with the man and not the woman.

I have tried a lot of different searches... and can't find this one. The usual suspects turn up like telling lies online, and wrong number, right woman. But this one... escapes.

Thanks for helping.

I'm currently re-reading long distance coffee and coffee and conclusions for the 3rd time. Excellent pair of books. But nope. Thanks anyways.

Nope. :) That's a good one too. I re-read that for the 2nd time last week. Yes, I like a certain trope :)

On a Wing and a Prayer by Karen D. Badger?
Author falls in love with an airline pilot called 'Cass' who sends a photo of her beside a male colleague, hence the mix-up.
