I was wondering if anyone here couldhelp; I am looking for the title of a fantasy book I read a couple years back; I do not remmeber the plot very well, but the action happens within a universe in which magicians perform magic via various cloaks of different colours (eg: red for fire magic, blue for water magic and so on) and that they switch those cloaks depending on the magic they want to do.

Does anyone know this book's title, please?

there are lots of books this could be, it's a pretty common trope - is there anything else you can think of that might distinguish the book?

Elemental Masters by Mercedes Lackey is a series I've heard of that has this, but I haven't read them.
