I read this novel maybe 12 0 14 years ago, fiction set in the 20th century, most probably published after year 1995.
I can't recall anything about the plot (that is why I'm looking for it, to reread it), but I remember very vividly the passages describing the stay of Ayatollah Khomeini in France during his exile, the description of how life was in the small village he chose as his residence, and the aura of deity that followed him.
It COULD be that the plot revolved around the middle east oil crisis and the politics that followed, but maybe I am mixing novels.
I know it is not much, but I have been having this novel around my head for a couple of years already, so any help will be appreciated.
