Hello,
I'm searching for this historical romance that i read some time ago. I don't remember the title or the name of the author, what i remember mostly is the plot, and here it is:

The hero of this story is depressed since the woman he loves has left him for an older and titled gentelman and creates a scandal by getting drunk every night, which makes his father very angry.
The hero is not tiltled at first, he is the second son. He thinks that the woman he loves is an innocent victim of her father while everybody knows she's a calculating hussy, and he defends her when people say bad things about her even his own friends. The father summons him, berates him for bringing shame to the family, and then cuts his funds and until he straightens himself out he wasn't welcome at the family home.
The hero, not having any money, remembers that he won some property the oher night playing cards. He finds the deed in his pockets, goes there and finds a dilapidated house(farm i guess).
Here is the part i'm a little confused about! I think he meets a woman(another one) living in that house and marries her (don't remember the details).
What i'm sure about is that he marries a woman, neglects her and leaves her the running of the farm he starts. And she is competent, very much so, she makes it a success (he helps little, mostly buys the starting animals).
He is always away with friends and visiting, and there he meets the woman he loves, she seduces him in the study or library, not sure if he succumbs. But his guilt after that makes him pay a little more attention to his bride and he helps a little more in the farm(stables).

I will rush it here! The hero's father forgives him and invites them to london and the family home(meeting of his father, mother, older brother. and a sister?). Something happens, the brother dies, the hero is the heir, his bride is a comfort to the family and is loved by them.
The woman he loved hears about the death of his brother, her husband is dead (killed him maybe?), and she tries to kill his wife.
The bride having had enough, leaves for her home (farm) and leaves the husband a letter. He goes after her and they make up.

==> I have omitteda number of incidents and happenings but you get the point. Thanks for your time.
