Probably the same essentially. The different is the transparency. The person in charge of these releases operates out of an xda thread and hosts his code and releases on github. This allows everyone to view exactly what he's doing with the code and make sure it isn't anything that might be questionable. Conversely, Balatan just releases it and that's that; you get what you get, and if you have questions or concerns, or don't trust the code, well, good luck. I personally prefer the former when it's available, but having said that, I do download other Balatan releases, so I'm not trying to imply he does something shady, I'm just saying, all else equal, I prefer transparency.

Extreme Audio in dogfood's version is really unlocked, while Balatan's version is only cosmetic.
That said, one can only appreciate the difference when connecting a hifi system at home.
If you are just playing it on earbuds or portable devices, you probably won't appreciate the difference in quality.

Is it just me or this release of Dogfood's Spotify changes all the green theme into red? It is unsettling...

Second this. Extreme audio sounds way better on the dogfood version but then again I use some pretty high end Sony earphones so the difference is quite noticeable.

I for one like the red theme. Red and Black goes perfect together.
But then, it's just a personal preference, so there will always be some who likes and some who hates.

The "Christmas red" theme is only for this one release.

Dogfood is a open source mod for spotify, it unlocks all the premium features except for offline playback, it`s similar to the normal mods, except for Dogfood being open source, which is a huge plus, as it`s reassuring knowing how the app was modified.

It's Android Auto's fault, not the mod. You can fix this by installing this Spotify APK via ADB. Follow the instructions in this XDA thread.

Are all the analytics/spyware components fisabled in this modded version? The always-on listening cræp built into spotify is not so hot.
