First off, the "modded" version posted here by Balatan hasn't added any features that aren't available in the Dogfood version as released by the developer over at XDA, which may make you question why he's modified the apk that didn't need modifying.
Second, the Dogfood version (again, hosted at XDA) skips songs and does everything that's listed in the XDA thread properly.
Third, the developer over at XDA hosts all his releases right on GitHub, which include into about all the changes made. I think it also includes a plain-English change log too.
It's cool that Balatan releases a bunch of apps here, but this one has be scratching my head. If you're going to release it here, why modify the apk when it doesn't need to be modded at all? Makes me more than a little suspicious. Unfortunately Balatan doesn't really respond to these types of inquiries - he may respond if someone tells him an app isn't cracked or patched properly, but beyond that, he's pretty quiet. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
Not quite correct - the 'XDA" release of Dogfood Spotify only supports shuffle mode at normal quality with No ADVERTISEMENTS, as you say, but the Balatan release that I have been using from here offers more features than the "XDA" Dogfood version.
However the Spotify Music v8.4.39.612-dogfood.CORE [MOD] [Full] offers far more features than the standard "XDA" version.
If you check the thread on XDA you will note that there is a Telegram support group - in the support group you can see a graphic showing the two versions of Dogfood - the Core version will do all that Spotify Premium offers except "save music offline"
So the best & safest version to use is the Spotify Music v8.4.39.612-dogfood.CORE [MOD] [Full] . Hope this helps
