First off, the "modded" version posted here by Balatan hasn't added any features that aren't available in the Dogfood version as released by the developer over at XDA, which may make you question why he's modified the apk that didn't need modifying.

Second, the Dogfood version (again, hosted at XDA) skips songs and does everything that's listed in the XDA thread properly.

Third, the developer over at XDA hosts all his releases right on GitHub, which include into about all the changes made. I think it also includes a plain-English change log too.

It's cool that Balatan releases a bunch of apps here, but this one has be scratching my head. If you're going to release it here, why modify the apk when it doesn't need to be modded at all? Makes me more than a little suspicious. Unfortunately Balatan doesn't really respond to these types of inquiries - he may respond if someone tells him an app isn't cracked or patched properly, but beyond that, he's pretty quiet. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Not quite correct - the 'XDA" release of Dogfood Spotify only supports shuffle mode at normal quality with No ADVERTISEMENTS, as you say, but the Balatan release that I have been using from here offers more features than the "XDA" Dogfood version.

However the Spotify Music v8.4.39.612-dogfood.CORE [MOD] [Full] offers far more features than the standard "XDA" version.

If you check the thread on XDA you will note that there is a Telegram support group - in the support group you can see a graphic showing the two versions of Dogfood - the Core version will do all that Spotify Premium offers except "save music offline"

So the best & safest version to use is the Spotify Music v8.4.39.612-dogfood.CORE [MOD] [Full] . Hope this helps ;)

The last version that works is the Spotify Dogfood 8.4.36.305 Since then I have premium popup and can not select titles directly. And on several devices with cache empty and uninstall the app.

I didn't realize that happened, so good looking out. My original logic still stands. The app is now readily available to everyone on Telegram (literally download the app and search "Spotify." The developer has even released an Updater app that will automatically watch for and install the newest Dogfood releases. Or if you prefer doing it manually, you can just subscribe to the Telegram release channel and watch for notifications (only posts in there are updates.)

It also still doesn't explain why Balatan is raining modifying the apk at all. The CORE releases on Telegram have all the mods that are present in this release, and they still are putting the details on GitHub for transparency, I believe.

IDK, just seems odd to me.

Does not seem to be working with my Sonos music boxes... is this also a premium server side setting?
Can someone confirm this?
thanks!

This release doesn't have Balatan's fingerprints on it. That's good enough for me.

The fact that this mod is yet again re-hosted, specifically going against the wishes of the original dev, speaks volumes about the folks releasing the modded APKs here. It's easy enough to point people in the right direction to download this mod from the "official" channels (which, aside from the fact that this is what the original dev desires, is a much easier, cleaner, reliable way), yet it gets rehosted to all manners of scummy, scammy, spammy upload sites. Classy. How much are you earning off this, Rabbitsfoot?

To clarify, I am not saying this mod shouldn't be POSTED on this forum. It should be, so more people can be made aware of it and access it. I am saying that it should NOT be re-hosted on these uploadmegafileoceanburst sites. Yes, a lot of APKs on the site has to be inevitably hosted here, but if the original dev has a perfectly fine way of access it WITHOUT these spammy links, why go through this extra step?

Folks, please do NOT clink on the links in the OP. As another user already mentioned, there is a telegram group that hosts and updates the APKs, directly from the developer. No spam, no scam, no pop ups. Don't give these punks any incentives to continue this shameful behavior.

Probably less than Balatan earns from the huge quantities of shit that he churns out every day. However, you all seem fine with him using you as his personal ATM machine.

Hmm, calling out people for being "punks" on a site that exists purely to disseminate pirated apps. Self righteous cunt.

Spotify's officials started to fight all mods lately, some have an issue with logging in. Even some get banned for using the mod.
