If you have bluetooth turned on, turn it off - I found with that on, I got those errors - maybe just coincidence but worth a try.
Thanks. Will try it out and report back.

FYI for anyone trying to play this on their TV, the interface isn't going to play nicely with the TV interface because it thinks it's a tablet, not a TV. This also means it won't to Spotify Connect because a tablet is a control device, not a player the way Spotify sees things (not many people would have a tablet set up as a player which they want to control with their phone or computer.)
However, there is an opportunity to use it ad-free still. If you log in both in your phone and the TV app using the same credentials it will recognize the multiple logins and let you choose where to play. It allows me to control Spotify on my Fire TV using the app on my phone. The downside is you'll need to pass your phone off to someone else if they want control instead of letting them just pair up if it was Bluetooth. The plus is that you can play from anywhere in your house as long as you're still connected to the WiFi.
I can think of a few times when this would've come in handy for me. Ex: have friends over and play music to TV while still being able to keep my phone on me when I leave the room without having to worry about the Bluetooth connection starting to freak the hell out.

Actually spotify connect works fine in both client and server mode, I've tried it on minix neo x8 + Nvidia shield TV, I can connect from my phone to the TV and vice versa. Also the interface displays fine. These things were tested before the app was released.

same here. on stock oneplus 3t oreo. and it only happens when the app is not being used and not playing anything in the background. if somthing is playing it never crashes. the crash window is also different from the usual android app crash (the usual one show you 3 options when app crash) but this crash only show you one option:

this didn't happen with old versions of dogfood and old versions of mobilism before the crackdown.

hmmm wonder what I'm doing wrong then. I have a feeling maybe it doesn't work properly on either the FireTV or something. The interface is also that of a tablet so it doesn't really play nicely with a remote unless you use another app that generates a pointer and allows for scrolling. I'm guessing that if things like Connect work properly for you, it's actually recognizing your devices as TVs and not tablets and using the TV layout, is that accurate?

It still shows a 'forced stop' message now and then.
Yeah, but who cares, right? It runs how it is supposed toThanks for the upload!!!
I agree, it's not a problem. I force stop the app after using it. We are lucky to still use a mod app. Thank you so much mr. dude and balatan.

Essentially something on your device or network is not allowing you to connect to spotify servers.
Can confirm, switched off Blokada and immediately it worked. Thanks!

For those that like to live on the wild side, here's the new 8.4.47.622 (beta) -Arm-Mod. I've changed the interface slightly from what you're used too, as it's a personal preference for me.
This is for ARM - also it's protected, so it might not work on some older devices running old versions of android.
