I get the "Spotify has forced stopped" very frequently. Any tips to stop or at least mitigate?

The most time I've waited for a new version of Spotify. What's going on?

i am noticing that as well...any ideas?
Yes, I know - I removed it on purpose on this release, as I was getting sick of twats complaining about ads on their chromecast devices (when it's the chromecast device itself that generates those ads) and was sick of answering the same questions over and over. I have it working myself on my own apk, and might release a repack with some other fixes/mods. Or I might wait until there's a new version released first....
In the meantime, you can use the google home app to cast audio from your device to your chromecast device, then you can use spotify and not have any ads.
MrDude if you are still around what was the last posted version that was safe to use after the account crackdown that still had chromecast support??

I can't remember, I've actually fixed it a while back but not posted any new apk's. Like someone already said - there's far too many people that feel 'entitled' to get a new version. Also when I see threads like this:
Code: Select all

With blatant re-packs, it just doesn't make me feel like releasing anymore, and I am not going to - at least in the near future.
Chromecast audio can still be cast from your mobile, just use google home or another a casting app to cast the audio and you'll have spotify ad free. If you use the built in casting from spotify - you get ads.

i hear ya, it sucks that it gets reposted everywhere. i know that you can use the builtin casting app for the audio, just prefer using the builtin option in the app. i dont mind the ads every now and then on chromecast. No worries ill keep an eye out if you ever post a new one and try going though old versions to see what still has it. Thanks again for your help...

Just FYI - I have had a pi-hole ad blocker on my network for a year or so - online there are lists of (updated) ad-servers which you can link to within the pi-hole to block spotify ads (when casting to chromecast for example). For me this approach has been 98% successful, the only ads which pi-hole doesn't seem to block are the adverts for upgrading to spotify premium. These ads too may be blockable via this method - i just haven't figured it out yet as I prefer to use the android tv modified apps provided here on an android tv box.

Hi! I can't seem to see my daily mix. I don't know why though. Is it working properly for you?

I get the "Spotify has forced stopped" very frequently (Samsung S7 Edge). Even after restarting the phone without launching the application.
I cleared the cache and data of Spotify app from Android app settings menu and re-installed the app.
But still have this error message.
