Did you compare size of both downloaded apk ? What if Google eval apk is bigger size just because of contain every given (ARM 7, Arm 8, xyz) version -> it installs without prob ? Or your phone got tested online in front of download, done by google, so thing you got offered for download is because of that compatible to your device ?
As you should have noticed, in here offered Version ist ARM 8 = ARM 64 only, so this is maybe good and only reason of your "Problem" ?

Is there a patched version available for ARM that does not require a rooted device?

It did not work for me, before a minute it stops playing and says: Trial period has finished
I tried to clear cache from the store, it's still the same
Installed as an update
Google Play Store version 11.1.15
Did you do anything to make it work on your device?

You must uninstall the previous version, clear all its cache and data, and delete the neutronmp folder on your phone, before installing this version.

That's how I got this version to work.

This solution does not always work, for me it worked in OnePlus 5 but it did not work in OnePlus 6, both with the same version of the Google Play Store.
However version 2.03.2 works without license problems

AFAIK, this "patched" app always needed a modded version of Google Play in order to work, and I think this is the case too.
Under requirements should say: Modded Google Play app.

This version is paid, you do not need root, GooglePlay Moded, LuckyPatcher ... but some change in the original application makes the patch now does not work well, the last version that worked without license problems is v2.03.2 (Paid), you can try it on a stock device.
