Nah Spotify devs are very bad at adhering to the latest Android standards. Case in point - they don't bump their target sdk level until Google forces them in November every year. Same with 64bit arm-v8a compatibility.
Switch over to Deezer. Way better app with devs that actually care about Android. They're targeting Android 10 already, well in advance of the November 2020 deadline Google has assigned for it.
FYI - most of the time people are encountering crashing apps is because they are using ad blockers - Spotify devs coded into the app to crash the app if it tries to download an ad then can't contact the server...we have defeated this now so will probably release soon....however if we do - it's pretty important to NOT use an ad blocker that blocks anything to do with Spotify Servers, for example the app connects to an address to download Album covers - which is the same address video ads use

, they did a pretty good job hiding that code as well....however....as Balatan has somewhat magical powers.....let's just say that never took long to defeat. It took less than 24hrs of us working together to beat this apps protection - and this is the first time we looked at it in about a year.
One thing is certain though - if we do decide to release, as soon as we start seeing stupid & unappreciative comments (and forum members don't reply to the offending posts), this app will be abandoned for sure, also don't expect a release every week or so - some people's 'demands' were just annoying!!!
