Someone else is expieriencing similar problems?
Problem: Not possible to search anything. Instead a popup telling "Something went wrong"
Steps to reproduce:
0. (Using Free-Account, maybe Premium makes a difference)
1. Search anything you want to listen
2. Listen to it for a whole time (detected this after touching my phone again after 3h)
3. Search for something else
4. Press on the Artist (no direct song, this works)
5. Receive a error-popup: "Something went wrong", retry won't help
Workaround:
It seems to help sometimes to swipe the app away in the "last used apps". Not everytime, but I belive this is only because it is not really closed already.
Force closing using the app info helped everytime for me (only tried 2x ... )
Edit: This happend even right after another clean install I just made while writing this. Closing App by using recent apps (and waiting a few sec) worked again)
Things on my side wich could interfere:
- I am using Blokada with a few filterlists. But Spotify is not appearing on the blocked log. Also using Quad9 (9.9.9.9) DNS.
- Xiaomi is somewhat agressiv with its powersaving. (Device: Xiaomi Mi 9t Pro @Miui11/Android10)
- No permissions granted for Spotify, but it haven't asked for any since clean install of this version.
Things I will try next, in order of apperance:
1. Locking Spotify inside Recent-Apps
2. Disabling Blokada (therfore also DNS change)
3. Disabling miui-powersaving. (Disabling App optimazion of android won't work, even if using Hidden Settings App)
4. Enabling Autostart/Allow Start by other Apps
5. Enabling permissions step-by-step.... (I think it is strange spotify haven't even asked for storage permission... sure, it only uses the "cache", maybe thats why...can't download anyway)
Results:
1. Changed nothing, was locked the whole time (won't reset after clean install)
2. Still happening. Also no blocked domain was shown.
3. Changing to "no restrictions" hasn't helped either
4. Another Miui related "powersaver" ... Activating dosn't changed anything.
5. Nope ...
So again:
Someone expieriencing similar problems?
Maybe someone already has a fix?
Conclusion:
Well I could just had read the post just above mine ... But now I am quite sure this is not a fault with my phone, but spotify itself damaging their reputation another time.
(I will update this post, once I figured out why this is happening. Hopefully I can still edit after a few hours, else i will only post a update)
Edit1: Added step 4: It only occours if I want to open a (new) artist page, if pressing a song, it works.
Edit2: Added Result 3
Edit3: Added Thing 4. Renamed 4->5
Edit4: Tested enabling permissions, added conclusion.
