After installing, Google Smart Lock automatically logged me in with a premium account I have and after logging out and back in with my free account it was shuffle only for me as well. I simply uninstalled and reinstalled logging with the free account the first time and now everything is working as expected. Thanks a lot to who provides the mods.

Is the "play everywhere" also a server-side feature? Thanks so much for this; my satellite radio in my car is about to expire and you saved me!

Download songs if it's a server-side feature. This mod does allow "play everywhere", if at first time the shuffle mode appears, what you have to do is force close the app twice and that's it, after that it will let you play any song.
If you mean Spotify Connect within the app, it is also a server side feature. If you use it to stream on chormecast, or smart speakers like google home, alexa, the ads could be heard again, it's recommended to stream via bluetooth directly from the device.

can this stream via wifi?
I have a soundbar and Spotify lists it as premium account only, so I cannot stream music to my soundbar via wifi

Spotify connect worked fine with the version in currently using...v8.5.11.762
