Good trick, hopefully it works for several people because it's what they usually ask here.

Yeah same for me and i think it`s not even a real 8.5.66... it`s the mod of mrdude only with changed version no. Cause same issues and moreover if the guy himself moded it the lyrics would have worked but not working just like mrdude new mods. So just a fake copy
Chances are that if they find any mod, that is of more current versions (after 8.5.63) it's a false copy of some mods published here by MrDude and Balatan. In the months where the app wasn't updated (from the end of last year to the beginning of this one) I never found any other worthy mod.

I see, I was impressed that Androeed published a Spotify mod for the first time ... I also observed in previous days several Russian sites published a new version. Same issues and no lyrics, so I guess it's just a copy. Going back to the good old 8.5.59

Now that Spotify is officially available in Russia many Russian devs are or will try to modify the app

Androeed have 8.5.66.1002, however it's NOT 8.5.66.1002 - it's just a different repacked version.

The easy way to check is to extract liborbit-jni-spotify.so & compare it's byte size and code to to the same version from the original from the play store. As you will see - the byte size is totally different and if you load that file into IDA Pro and decompile it - the code is different. There's many other ways to check as well, however for the moment - Androeed are not cracking the new spotify's, they are just cloning older versions and changing version strings.

Still, I do find it quite funny reading the posts when people say that xxx (cloned) version is working for them & xxx version posted on here doesn't :-). 99.9% of these versions you find on the net are repacked versions from here.

Is there any way to get lyrics to work? If there is any other version which has lyrics working please guide me to it. Thanks.

8.5.59 I think is the latest update without some bugs

No point on updating an app while it looks like an Early Alpha release with bugs all over, wait for a better version maybe...

Yes 8.5.59 is the latest mod version that works well, at least for me, however it doesn't have the lyrics feature, or at least it doesn't appear to me. In this same post they commented that previous versions such as 8.5.17 and 8.5.23, despite being old, have the new lyrics feature. You could try version 8.5.29, which I remember was the last one that MrDude had released last year before going a few months without updates.
EDIT:
After testing, in 8.5.29 the lyrics don't work, in 8.5.23 as they had already commented they work perfectly, despite being an old version.

Why is Virus Total community report classifying it as Malicious with strong red flags?

I don't know what the Virustotal community is like, or what people are based on when voting, but when scanning the .apk file downloaded here through Virustotal, it doesn't come out that it has any type of virus or malicious code. But downloading "supposed mods" from other places (which in reality are only fake copies of this one), viruses have jumped on that page, with the versions published in this forum it hasn't happened to me.
