Why encryption...detections are scary

Not sure if I would call this a safe app when granting permissions it wants you to give it permission to access your photos and videos on your phone which have nothing to do with playing your music and if you do not grant it permissions it won't let you proceed if you close it you'll get back to that screen when you reopen it.

Description says he took out the detection so I would guess it's safe or am I missing something? Really want to try this but asking for access to photos & videos makes no sense
