I never expected to be pregnant, I don’t even know if I want a baby… but now that I have one, I can’t think of anything I want more.
I’m not telling Michael, I want to do this by myself. Alphas only run off, anyway.
Now that Michael knows, I can’t keep the baby away from him. He says he wants to be a dad, but alphas just don’t raise children.

Shifters have always been kind of… an obsession for me, I guess you could say. In the least creepy way that can be meant. I was that kid who watched all the shifter specials on the TV.
After befriending the twins in high school I kind of thought that the obsession had turned into more of an appreciation.
I was proven completely wrong the first time I laid eyes on Lucas.
Dragon shifters were rare even among the wider shifter population so, even discounting the fact that he was hot like burning, it was like everything about him was made to catch and keep my attention.
A one-night stand that turned into more was only the beginning.

Isaiah was a complication I never intended on. He was intriguing and more than a little tempting but it was never supposed to go anywhere past that first one-night stand.
I spent so long keeping my distance from other people, even others of my own kind, that I didn’t know how to handle someone so determined to get through my guard.
I let him in, in spite of my better judgment, and it all very quickly spiralled out of control.
My best intentions weren’t enough to stop the chaos but somehow, he was the eye of the storm and when it settled it seemed like maybe I’d have my happy ending.
