4. Snowed In - Trapped by the blizzard outside...
HunterDane & Camden Snow contend with the storm raging inside.
In the pre-dawn darkness, Hunt moaned and thrashed under the comforter. Finally, the nightmare receded. He settled, breathed deeply several times, and opened his eyes.
"You okay?" Cam asked.
“Sure," Hunter smiled, half-awake, not remembering. "I'm here with you. Safe inside the storm. Away from ... all the crap of the last few weeks.”
Cam moved his hands over Hunt’s body, soothing and gentling. “Safe inside the storm.” Not safe from the storm, but safe inside of it. Isolated. Protected. Safe.
But Cam knew Hunter wasn’t safe; his demons came with him: a dark and twisted possession by blood and cruelty and murder. Being snowed-in for days would allow the darkness to eat away at Hunt until his very skin would seem too small. He'd beg Cam for the flogger. And hate Cam for denying him.
There was a solution, but the so-called "Full Metal Dom" was afraid. So very afraid the fragile bonds between them would not survive.
To help Hunter, he had to do the one thing he swore he would never do.

5. Psychic Men - Hunt and Cam have settled into a satisfying routine of solving murders and hanging at the club, when they aren't expressing their affection for one another. Vigorously. Then a skinny kid, who barely came up to Cam's chin, sought them out.
"I saw my father last night," Asher Gamble told him. "He said Jason Furney's going to die and people will say I did it."
Hunt frowned. The boy's name seemed familiar. "Tell me the rest of it."
Asher locked his gaze on Hunt's as intractably as Cam ever had.
"My father killed my mother and my brother when I was two years old. He died in prison four years ago."
So much for routine.

6. Fractured Men - Sometimes what you never thought would happen, does.
All at once. A furnace explodes taking your house with it. A cop at the door says your father’s dead. Or lightning strikes from the ice-blue eyes of a much-too-young-for-you man you pass in a doorway.
One year to the day later, the young man was my husband.
I slid onto a counter stool and Cam handed me a mug of coffee. A big slice of his grandmother Dee’s apple pie waited on a brick red ceramic dish. Our cell phones lay on Cam’s side of the breakfast bar.
He made quite the ceremony of turning my phone off and dropping it into the silverware drawer. “For the seven days of our honeymoon, you are not a homicide detective.”
Somebody should've told the killer.

7. Shadow Men - DARKNESS FALLS, EVEN IN PARADISE...
“I said, no.”
“I’m sorry, I can’t accept that.”
Hunter gave Ben Hart an incredulous look. “Accept it or don’t Hart, I’m not leaving Cam right now.”
The billionaire put his hands into his pockets and looked around Cam’s yard—an unimproved clearing to the edge of the woods. Above the jagged line of the canyon rim, a lone raptor circled lazily. “I don’t like calling in favors, but if that’s what it takes…”
“If you ‘call them in’ they aren’t favors. And before you explain exactly what happened, why do you need me? If it’s a police matter, Hawaii has police departments. The locals aren’t meeting your high expectations?”
Hart’s indigo eyes flashed fire. “Remember who you’re talking to, Detective.”
“Remember I don’t work for you, Hart.”
Benedict Hart and Hunter Dane faced-off. They were both big men, both men who had killed, and both motivated by the same thing.
“Don’t fight me on this, Hunter; I'm protecting my family.”
“So am I, Ben. Either tell me what the hell is going on or leave. Cam and I are still on our honeymoon.”
Something desperate flickered across Ben Hart’s face. “I’ve done a lot for you, Hunter. And for Cam. You think I can’t hurt you? And hi—”
WHAM!
One billionaire facedown on the redwood table.
“Hunter!” Cam was on the patio, in sweatpants and nothing else. He crossed swiftly to the table. “Let him go before one of his bodyguards takes you out from the woods.”
Hunter didn’t move. “He threatened you.”
“Then he’s scared s**tless about something money can’t fix."
