Overview: Originally from Detroit, William Holden now lives in Cambridge, MA with his partner of eighteen years. He has a Master's in Library and Information Science from Florida State University. Over the past decade he has devoted his time to collecting and preserving GLBT history and is a volunteer archivist at Boston's History Project.
William's writing spans more than fifteen years, accumulating more than seventy published short stories in the genres of erotica, romance, fantasy, and horror. He is an award-winning author of such titles as, A Twist of Grimm by Lethe Press (Lambda Literary Award Finalist), and by Bold Strokes Books, Words to Die By (2nd place Rainbow Book Awards for best horror and finalist for the Foreword Reviews' INDIEFAB Book of the Year Award for Best Horror). Fleeing London, Thomas Newton reaches Paris full of hopes for a new life with Pierre Baptiste. The hopes are quickly shattered. There are unsettling rumors about Pierre’s past and very real threats in the present. Arrested on false charges, thrown into a dank prison, Thomas must decide whether he can trust Pierre’s help to winning back his freedom. But freedom will bring other risks, especially if it requires a return to London and all that he fled. The men from his past whom he betrayed—and who might well want revenge. His avowed enemies, the bigots that chased him across the channel. And, worst of all, everything he doesn’t know about his family. Den of Thieves (#3)
It seems like the right time for Thomas Newton to close the door on his past. The hypocritical crusaders of the Society for the Reformation of Manners have stopped their raids and scattered. The arrogant aristocrat who tried to kill Christopher and Pierre, Thomas’s lovers, has been executed for treason. The old threats have vanished.
But in 18th Century London, nothing is ever quite what it seems. When a series of murders begin plaguing the city, Thomas and Pierre are called to solve them. The crimes may conceal a plot against the king.
After Thomas enters the Den of Thieves in disguise, Pierre himself is arrested for the murders and Christopher disappears from London, on the search for Thomas’s real father.
The past is a shadowed hallway where every door opens onto another and every love divides the heart. Will the three ever see each other again?
