2. Two Autumns: Murder in Katelina: Evelyn Sullivan has no time to celebrate her first win as a homicide detective. A man is found dead on a tree, his incessant eavesdropping having made enemies of every neighbor. To top it off, Eve’s trial begins for the Council of Vampires to determine whether she can maintain her memories. Victor Cardal, Troy Carmine, and Duke Hughes, Eve’s vampire mates, are unable to fully protect her from the Council of Vampires. And the fast-approaching autumn weather makes her sick and weakened. Later, on the first day of autumn, Eve’s day grows hectic. The final trial test begins, and Alec Montoya, the serial killer copycat, is back. Two more bodies are found with a code. A tip-off leads them to a man, who claims “he” forced him to transport the bodies. He’s a complete mess, yet he may be the only possible connection to finding Alec Montoya.

3. Three Winters: Open Case: Evelyn Sullivan’s life takes a sudden turn. A deep secret is revealed, and a powerful vampire comes for Eve’s memories at all costs. Victor Cardal, Troy Carmine, and Duke Hughes fight to protect her. They suggest marking her for her future safety, yet they don’t anticipate the side-effects that end up making them ask a vampire for help. Alec Montoya’s case grows more and more bizarre. A breakthrough leads the team to the serial killer’s hideout, as well as to the possible involvement of a vampire. Yet three more bodies are found with a new code, while an unreliable witness is spared. Their homicide unit, along with a new rookie team of criminal investigators, are finally closing in on the murderer. A name is revealed, and the puzzle pieces begin to fall into place. However, the clues might lead them to a case impossible to solve.

4. Four Springs: Case Closed: Evelyn Sullivan and her team aren’t yet aware of how deep this case goes. Whoever has been impersonating Alec Montoya, the serial killer, comes to light. However, twists and turns reveal the root cause of the murders. Eve, Victor, Troy, and Duke see this case spiraling out of control, and they can’t do anything to stop it. In a failed attempt to prevent the last four murders, they come across individuals they have never met before. The deeper they go, the more complex this case becomes. They find themselves searching for help wherever they can get it. Victor, Troy, and Duke are set on closing this case with Eve, yet their survival comes first. When a horde of bloodthirsty vampires surfaces, Eve in the middle of everything, they do what they can to protect her. With such uncertainty and danger, Eve feels powerless to help her mates and the vampires around her.
