Pistols in their usual form - this is the brainchild of the twentieth century, although the first samples of these weapons appeared in the XV century. The first pistols were fitted with a wick lock, which was replaced by a wheel lock, and then a flintlock. However, they were all single-charge, quite heavy and demanded a lot of time to recharge. Therefore, in the second half of the XIX century pistols were very quickly replaced by revolvers…..
