Requirements: .ePUB, .MOBI/.AZW reader, 1.1 Mb
Overview: Yehiel De-Nur or Dinur, known by his pen name Ka-tzetnik 135633 (also Ka-Tsetnik, ק. צטניק in Hebrew) was a Jewish writer and Holocaust survivor best known for his 1955 novel "The House of Dolls", which he claimed was inspired by his time as a prisoner in the Auschwitz concentration camp.
K.Z. (German-pronounced Ka-tzet) are the initials of the German term for concentration camp. Every K.Z. inmate was nicknamed ‘Ka-tzetnik Number...’ the personal number branded into the flesh of the left arm. The writer of Piepels was Ka-tzetnik 135633.
Genre: Non-Fiction > History > World War II > Holocaust

To shock the world you only have to tell the truth. KA-TZETNIK 135633, the branded survivor from Auschwitz, has told the story of that place, vacated by God.
The idea of incinerating human beings like refuse was devilish and mad, but the sadistic cruelties fed to the victims with their water soup was immeasurably more depraved. Auschwitz was an upside down world of its own where potato peels were prized higher than diamonds, where the men in authority had been chosen for their record of perversion and crime - and where a man's highest ambition was not to die.
There is not a breath of exaggeration in Piepel; Ludwig Tiene, the child murderer really existed; the experimenting doctor may still be alive in South America, and the holy rabbi of Shilev was burned along with the others. This is a book which once started must be finished and when finished can never be forgotten.

Piepels . . . boys whom the Block Chiefs of Auschwitz selected for their sexual orgies. The recorder of this account does not know the origin of the name ‘Piepel’, who coined it, or in what language it originates. Be that as it may, in Auschwitz the name was as familiar as the names Bread and Crematorium.
