i just uploaded a ebook collection , the thank you button counts were 10 and when i clicked the number of downloads from primary link they were 99

i know there are lots of reasons for as it as in thank you button is added after the post is moved to the particular section till then many users had already downloaded it.

some forget as the link diverts to download page

some are guests not members some have misconception that reward is deducted from their account

so i suggest something on lines that link or password may appear when thanks button is clicked i know it is not full proof because sometimes the link might be inactive or some other issue.

but doing this would encourage the uploader
another thing is we cannot hide links from guests , atleast if the signature was visible only to members,it can be used to display password which would be available to members only

If this were the case, then the whole system would be pointless and we might as well add in the code to give 1 WRZ$ per click automatically. Better yet, reward per page view system. As you can see that would be absurd and WRZ$ would have no meaning anymore.

The button is free to click. One must go out of their way to click it showing others that the item is top quality and worth the download. It helps filter out poor quality uploads with high quality ones.

Exactly. I posted a reply on another thread about the Thank You buttons. (I recommend reading that thread.) There, too, it was mentioned that other forums use a system that requires a Thanks button to be clicked first, before download links will appear.

I both download and share books here. This was my response:

Have also participated in a forum where they use a similar system. It has its drawbacks, including not enabling a downloader to evaluate the quality of the file first, before thanking the poster. I am one of those readers for whom the aesthetic qualities of an ebook matter - akin, I imagine, to people who love the smell, feel, sight, etc., of hardcopy books. Oddly, print books don't hold that kind of appeal for me (plus there's no room here for physical books and I prefer a spartan environment). However, beautifully-designed and well-formatted ebooks sans all-but-minor, and few, errors do hold appeal for me. In fact, my near-drooling, eyes-popping, tender-caressing-of-iPad response to them can't be unlike similar responses from certain hardcopy bibliophiles.

IOW, the content alone of an ebook isn't enough for me. If the quality of the file is poor, then that affects my ability to read the ebook's content with the pleasure I would otherwise. If it turns out that I've downloaded a poor-quality ebook, that file ends up in my trash bin. Am disinclined in such cases to thank the poster.

That said, it has been rare that I've NOT thanked a releaser. It takes less than a handful of downloads to recognize which releasers do/don't post the quality of ebooks one favours.

Long story short: I prefer Mobilism's Thank You button system to remain as it is; despite my annoyance with people happy to download ebooks but disinclined to express that happiness with a simple click of a button.

I do not click the thank you button until after I check the format. When the book is a PDF convert I will not click the Thank You button. Sorry but if a nice, readable copy of a book is not uploaded then the poster does not deserve any thanks or reward.
