Wondering if this is possible or cause problems for the eBook section.

In the template add a section for Version (retail or convert from PDF)

I am tired of downloading books where the format is just a convert from PDF. I have either found a retail version on the internet or purchased a retail copy. Anything I upload will never be a PDF convert and I do not understand why others upload this.

If the above is not possible what about adding something similar to the Good Links to users who upload retail or properly formatted ebooks. It could be GF (Good Format). Something to help determine who will upload books that are formatted and easy to read.

We will take your suggestion under advisement, thanks. In the meantime, you can do as the rules say and offer to repost with better files:

Subject: [IMPORTANT] Rules for the ebook section

Reposting releases of ARC files and/or bad quality files
  • First, contact a moderator for the old release to be removed so your replacement post can be approved.
    • Posters of ARC files will be contacted by a moderator and offered a 24 hour deadline to replace their files with a final version of the book.
    • Posters of lesser quality files will have the right to replace their files within a week from notice before the post is removed to make way for a new release. 7 days with a weekend included should be enough for a poster to visit this site and edit the post.

Keep in mind that most users are only trying to help, so happy to share what they find that they never actually check the file before uploading it. You would be surprised if you knew the number of posters who change their ways after they are made aware of this problem. And if not, we go back to the rules and repost :)
