This is at least twice I have somehow done this wrong. When I thought responding to original post letting them know a link is broken, somehow I make this public - which we all know, starting with me, is wrong. But somehow even though I think/thought I hit the 'PM' button, apparently I sone how make this public.

What am doing wrong?

Hello, hon. I'm not sure I understand your question, but let me have a try at answering it, OK? :)

You want to contact by private message the original poster of a release, to let them know that all links are dead. Have I understood that correctly? If so, then read on…

Below each and every release, there are three buttons located at the bottom lower left border of that post (and every post whether it's a release or not).

Click the pm button below a release. That will open up a new window which will be pre-filled with a copy of the release. After you've typed your message, click the Submit button at the bottom of that same window.

I think we have all, at one time or another, inadvertently posted below a release when we meant to send a pm instead. Usually, it's a case of having been distracted by this or that and therefore having posted in the wrong window.

sir
Is it OK to pm the person who posts the links to the eBooks or am I harassing them when I complain that the link is not working?
I do not know the rules of this site ,and I really do not want to PM someone. Is there any general area where I can let your site know if the links do not work rather than sending a personal message.

Anjali, by sending the original poster of a release a private message, you are doing exactly the right thing—and under most circumstances, the rules require such action. Most OPs appreciate being notified when (all) their links are dead or when a user is unable to download with the hosts provided.
